NVQ Construction Site Supervision - Level 3, NVQ Construction Site Management - Level 4

The requirement for these NVQ's arises from a need to obtain a CSCS Supervisor or Manager card. Other routes are available, but for many the NVQ route is the best.

At Level 2 the candidate has only to carry out his work, answer questions and collect a minimal amount of evidence themselves. However for these two qualifications an increased amount of candidate effort is required.

In common with other qualifications, evidence is gained from the workplace, although the evidence is now of supervision and management rather than the construction itself. It has in fact become a support qualification rather than a skill qualification.

Many candidates who have for example a degree qualification cannot initially understand the reason for the NVQ. Once they grasp that the qualification refers to their work performance rather than academic attainment, it all becomes much clearer.
